Sunspots, sunspot groups, spot-associated H-alpha-flares, and microwave bursts were observed from 1972 to 1974. It is noted, from studies of isolated spots, that up to a magnetic field of 2000 gauss, spots are more often associated with H-alpha-flares than with microwave bursts. The reverse is found to be true at field strengths over 2500 gauss. H-alpha-flares are produced by 100% of the Beta (gamma) spot configurations, and 97% of the delta configurations, while microwave bursts are produced by 89% of the Beta (gamma) configurations and 87% of the delta configurations. The percentage distribution of spot-associated flares changes in relation to the percentage distribution of various types of microwave bursts. Impulsive bursts appear to be associated with the changing types of spots. Through an investigation of confirmed H-alpha-flare positions with respect to those spots, it is noted that a few flares occur outside the visible range of spots.
