Scientific paper

Data obtained by a series of riometers in the Arctic and Antarctic is applied to the analysis of the latitude profile of the polar cap absorption during April 18, 19, 1972. North-south asymmetry of absorption intensity is examined, and the effect of the sector structure of the interplanetary magnetic field on the character of latitudinal distribution of absorption is considered.
