Three samples from a Triassic-age batholith in the eastern Andes northeast of La Paz, Bolivia yield apatite fission-track ages of 11-13 Ma. Interpreting these young ages as due to uplift and erosion requires approximately 2.5-5.0 km of erosion in the past 12 Ma, an amount which is consistent with the known geology and which is typical of many active mountain ranges.
