A single-parameter family of electron density profiles for the lower F-region is obtained on the basis of a relationship between electron density and relative O(+) ion concentration. This family fully reflects the relationship between the type of electron density profile and heliogeophysical conditions. As an example, height profiles of electron density are represented in the form of a single-parameter family according to the model of Kazachevskaia and Ivanov-Kholodnyi (1965).
