The equilibrium masses of the interstellar gas clouds have been calculated when the clouds are imbedded with magnetic fields. It is found that the masses of these clouds may be of the order of several thousand solar masses. These masses appear to be consistent with the generally accepted level of efficiency for the processes of star formation.
