The rarely-outbursting cataclysmic variable AQ CMi was reported by Rod Stubbings (Tetoora Road, Victoria, Australia) to be in outburst at m(vis) = 14.6 on 2008 Jan 31 11:28 UT; it is not known whether the outburst is a normal one or a superoutburst. The last confirmed normal outburst occurred on 2000 February 28 UT, and the last confirmed superoutburst in 1997 March UT. Visual and CCD observations are urgently requested, with an emphasis on CCD time-series observations. All observations should be submitted to the AAVSO International Database as AQ CMi.
