Solar Radio Bursts

The discovery of meterwave (≡10 - 300 MHz) spike bursts (fast drifting bursts with very short durations at fixed frequencies) can be traced back to the 1960's by De Groot and their characteristics of narrow-band (the relative waveband is less than a few per cent) and very short emission time (less than 100 milliseconds) raise consistently many interests among theoretical workers in the fields of solar radio physics. With the progress in terms of theoretical models and multi-waveband observational means, meterwave spikes plays more and more important role in the fields of solar physics. The authors discuss some problems related to meterwave spikes.
