The annual cosmic ray variations are determined on the basis of
theoretical calculations and the actual changes in solar activity with
the heliolatitude. An equation describing the density distribution of
galactic and cosmic rays near the solar equator is derived and is shown
to correlate satisfactorily with the actual distribution.
