A simple derivation of the kinetic equation is presented that describes the motion of charged particles in a random magnetic field. Also, one of the possible ways of making allowance for shock wave effects is examined. In addition to its simplicity, the method used in the derivation of the kinetic equation has the advantage of providing the means for obtaining at once both the equation for the mean distribution function and the equation for the fluctuating portion of the distribution function.
