A simple modification of the Suzuki formula for calculating thermal expansivity yields a useful description for expansivity that does not suffer from numerical difficulties when extrapolated to high temperatures, yet yields identical values to the Suzuki formula at low temperatures. The traditional Suzuki formula parameters may be used with this method with errors of 0.5% or lower in temperature ranges encountered in planetary interiors.
