The elementary relativistic cosmological model is refined by taking into account the proper motions of particles. It is found that the latter were in the past much faster than now, and it is thereby inferred that there must actually exist, in our Universe, a large population of low energy neutrinos, due to previous high energy nuclear reactions. It is shown how these neutrinos can be detected through their gravitational influence. In case they fail to be detected, one must conclude that there exists a possibility of annihilation of neutrino-antineutrino pairs.
