Ion Sources: Polarized, Synchrotrons

Scientific paper

The cryogenic source of polarized deuterons (↑D+) POLARIS operates at the Dubna 10 GeV accelerator synhrophasotron. There is a project to make a polarized beam at the new superconducting accelerator nuclotron to continue a spin physics program. It is supposed to use the atomic beam stage of the source POLARIS, to modify an existing ↑D+ charge exchange ionizer into ↑D- ionizer, to realize multiturn charge exchange injection in the nuclotron ring, to upgrade the polarimetry of low and high energy polarized beams. Description, parameters and some test results of the setups are presented. .
