Schaeffer and Fisher1 have given values for the exposure ages (that is, the time during which the meteorites were exposed to cosmic rays after having been broken out of a bigger body) of 18 iron meteorites. These ages vary between 20 × 106 to 1,900 × 106 years. I think these authors have made some mistakes in interpreting the results of their experimental work.
