The convergence of the T-matrix approach for randomly oriented, nonabsorbing, nonspherical Chebyshev particles is studied. A new physical convergence procedure is proposed. Both the mathematical procedure developed by Mishchenko (the M-procedure) and the authors' physical procedure (the P-procedure) are examined in application to different particle size parameters, deformation parameters, and even and odd waviness parameters. The results show that under certain conditions the P-procedure is superior to the M-procedure.
