Precise measurements of white ovals on the north edge of Jupiter's North Equatorial Belt are reported. The North Equatorial Belt spots exhibited the same type of short-term behavior as the Red Spot-changes in length and width, small-amplitude oscillations in latitude, abrupt changes in rotation rate, and small variations in longitude. The coalescense of two white ovals is discussed.
