The possibility of using structural and spatial characteristics of meteor streams as physical models of the dust component from cometary nuclei is considered. Physical models of ejection of dust particles are evaluated by comparison between measured and simulated structural characteristics of meteor streams. A special mathematical technique, which enables to simulate the distribution functions for orbital elements of dust particles and their flux density in the ecliptic plane, is developed for this purpose. It is shown that, by using the Whipple model for ejection of the dust component from cometary nuclei, the simulated characteristics of meteor streams cannot be fitted to those found from observations.
