Geomagnetic pulsation events recorded during September and October of 1984 by seven stations in central and northern Europe were investigated. It was found that the occurrence of events with latitude-dependent periods recorded in 1984 differed significantly from that found in a previous investigation in 1977. In 1984, the latitude dependence of the pulsation period change was exceptionally large, amounting to 10-12 percent per degree, explaining why less latitude-dependent events were found in 1984 than in 1977. No clear cases could be demonstrated when the period remained constant at two stations within a latitude dependent branch.
