Results are presented from observations through the earth atmosphere of star scintillations, carried out in 1987-1988 by instruments aboard the space station Mir. Based on photocurrent data, the scintillation spectra in the 20-40 km range of altitudes were calculated, showing that, in the geographic latitudes covered by Mir, the temperature-fluctuation spectra do not change significantly. It was found that the temperature inhomogeneities responsible for observed scintillations are strongly anisotropic and have a layered structure.
