During the first half of September, 1971, proton fluxes with energies of
5, 15, 25, 40, and 65 MeV were recorded at heights of 650 km in the
high-latitude regions of the magnetosphere. The proton energy spectrum
is described by a power function whose exponent varies with time from
0.6 to 2.0 at energies between 5 and 65 MeV and between 1.3 and 3.4 MeV.
