A conventional photographic method has been used to obtain values of
photoabsorption cross sections for N2, CO, O2, NO, N2O, CH4, NH3 and H2O
as a function of wavelength from the ionization threshold to the soft
X-ray region. The curves exhibit shoulders which are compared with some
recent theoretical calculations.
