We consider two well-known models describing a charged and superconducting string. One is based on a Kaluza-Klein technique, the other uses a scalar potential on the world sheet. For a circular loop in an (almost) arbitrary gravitational and electro-magnetic background we write the equations of motion in a simple Hamiltonian form and find that they are almost alike for the two models.
