Data on temperature and pressure in the southern hemisphere of Venus, obtained by the radio-transillumination method with the Venera-15 and -16 satellites, are used for determining altitude profiles of zonal wind velocity at altitudes from 50 to 80 km. The altitude and latitude dependences of zonal wind velocity in the interval from 66 to 83° south latitude are given. In the circumpolar atmosphere of the southern hemisphere at latitudes 70 - 72°, a jet stream in which the wind velocity reached a maximum value of 115 m/sec at an altitude of 62 km was discovered.
