The reduced magnetohydrodynamic equations governing low-frequency electromagnetic turbulence are derived taking into account the compressional and sheared magnetic field perturbations in high-beta magnetoplasmas. The present model equations should be basic for studies of turbulence properties and coherent vortex structures involving Alfven waves that have been frequently observed at the magnetopause.
