Time dependent solutions for the equations of continuity and momentum for 9 compounds of an oxygen-hydrogen atmosphere have been obtained from 60 to 220 km. Calculations have also been made for N2, without assuming the atmosphere to be in hydrostatic equilibrium. Diurnal variations of density produced by vertical air motions are discussed. An eddy diffusion coefficient compatible with the experimental results for atomic oxygen is used, which provides a relatively dry atmosphere.
