Solar Microwave Bursts: Spectral Indices

The microwave event on Nov. 10, 1988 have been analysed preliminarily. The variation of spectral index α with time appeared that α > 0 and α < 0 before and after the maximum of the burst at 11.1 cm wavelength respectively, and minus maximum near the peak of burst at 3.2 cm wavelength. Such characters of the variation of spectral indexes indicate that the microwave burst was due to gyro-synchrotron radiation of energetic electrons accelerated during the flare.
