Relativistic Plasmas, Laboratory Studies Of Space- And Astrophysical-Plasma Processes, Laser-Plasma Interactions, Plasma Production And Heating By Laser Beams, Electron-Positron Plasmas

We discuss the production of relativistic electron-positron plasmas by the interaction of ultra-intense lasers with high-Z targets. We review the potential astrophysical applications of such laser experiments, including gamma-ray bursts, blazar jets and black holes. We propose future experiments involving collisions of such pair fireballs and the study of collisionless shocks in pair plamsas. .
