We extract simultaneous data from the second XMM-Newton serendipitous source catalogue (XMMSSC) and the XMM-Newton Optical Monitor Serendipitous UV Source Survey catalogue (XMMOMSUSS), and derive the single-epoch αox indices. We use ensemble structure functions to analyse multi-epoch data.
