Delayed collapse of protoneutron stars is discussed in the context of
kaon condensation by a chiral symmetry approach. Nonlinearity included
in a chiral model plays important roles in construction the equation of
state and possibility of the delayed collapse. The neutrino trapping
effects are emphasized for the delayed collapse in a chiral model. .
