Coordinate Systems: Errors
Scientific paper
The coordinate system errors of the PDS at Purple Mountain Observatory (PMO) are determined with a piece of glass grid. It can be seen that besides regular fluctuations, there are some parabolic curvature in the errors of x-direction and varied skewness in the errors of y-direction. The analysis of the results indicates that this is mainly caused by the curvature of the y-direction rails, and the regular small fluctuations are due to the gears not being exactly round.
