Supernovae and massive stars heat and pressurize the surrounding ISM, giving rise to winds and regulating star formation. This feedback, along with interactions and mergers, is fundamental to the evolution of galaxies on all physical scales and throughout their histories. The aim of our study is to investigate how the environment affects the cycle of the star formation and feedback within the M81 group of galaxies. We propose to obtain direct imaging of 14 members of the M81 group in Hα and [SII] using the KPNO 2.1m CCD Imager. These observations will allow us to estimate energy injected into emission nebulae and to determine whether these nebulae are predominantly photo- or shock-ionized and to constrain the ratio of radiative to mechanical feedback. These data will be complemented with archived X-ray, UV, broadband optical, IR, and radio data. This will enable us to quantify supernova feedback and to draw correlations with interaction history, host galaxy mass, star formation rate, and Hubble types.
