Quasi-viscous flow in the low-latitude magnetospheric boundary layer is
investigated in connection with the generation of morning-evening
ionospheric currents and field-aligned currents in the polar cap. It is
shown that the efficiency of magnetospheric-ionospheric interaction
depends on the ionospheric conductivity in the cusp region.
