Synoptic magnetograph data are examined to analytically determine the effects of a telluric line in the water-vapor spectrum on the solar line 5250.2 (Fe 1). Spectrum scans are used to model the contaminating effects and develop a procedure that accounts for the telluric line when the slant water vapor is known. A small average correction is determined at about 0.5 percent which accounts for a slight annual variation found in the last few years of measurements.
