Correlations between the undulations of the equipotential and topography surface of Venus have been investigated in the global scale and over 16 meridional sections. Venus topography was described by a set of harmonic coefficients and the gravity field was described using geopotential coefficients, the Venus-centric gravitational constant and angular velocity of its motion. Meridional sections of the equipotential surface based on the data in question are presented. High correlations have been found but the figure parameters of the ellipsoids best fitting the surface in question differ considerably. The correlation between the gravitational field and topography of Venus is good on the local scale but is not valid for the whole surface. Global features such as figures of the best-fitting ellipsoids are mutually strange.
