A qualitative analysis of the two-dimensional oscillations of a satellite in an elliptical orbit is presented. The uniqueness condition of the 2pi-periodic solutions is obtained, and their bilateral estimates are found. In addition, stability conditions are established for the periodic oscillations of a satellite relative to its radius vector along with stability conditions for Mercury-type rotations.
