It is pointed out that theoretical works 'automatically' assume that an eventual new interaction being repulsive (attractive) must be mediated by spin-1 (spin-0 or spin-2) particles. In the case of four known interactions these assumptions are correct. The problem of whether extrapolation to the eventual further interactions is necessarily correct is briefly discussed. An illustrative case involving magnetic photons suggests that it is never strange to expect that an eventual fifth repulsive interaction may also be mediated by a spin-2 field. On the other hand, it also suggests that an attractive force mediated by a spin-1 particle is, in principle, allowed, but highly unlikely.
