Stars: General, Stars: Low-Mass, Brown Dwarfs

130 evolutionary tracks have been calculated for low-mass stars with updated input physics. The tracks have been evolved from the contracting Hayashi phase to the tip of the red giant branch. The mass range is 0.55 to 1.00 M$_{\odot}$ in steps of 0.05 M$_{\odot}$. The mixing length parameter $\alpha$ is between 1.0 and 2.0 in steps of 0.25. The helium mass fraction Y is set to 0.24 - in addition, a few selected tracks have been computed with Y=0.28. Values for the metallicity - solar scaled according to [Fe/H] - are Z=0.0002, 0.0005, 0.001 and 0.004. Fourteen tracks have been computed with mass loss included through a Reimers mass-loss formula. We also provide parametrized formulae for $T_{rm eff}$, $L$, $M_c$, and radius at the He-core flash, as well as for the zero-age main sequence. In addition, we parametrize the MS lifetime in terms of $M$, $\alpha$ and $Z$. The grid has a range of physical parameters that covers the observed values for globular clusters, and is therefore well suited for studies of them.
