To determine the general feasibility of airborne visual satellite tracking, the author made five flights aboard USAF C-130 aircraft as a preliminary step toward the development of a reliable and economic means of tracking low, unstable satellites. The targets of the flight described in this report were Satellites 1960 δ1 (Explorer 9) and 1960 ι1 (Echo 1).
