Haurwitz and Chapman1 have recently described the discovery,
analysis and distribution of the lunar semidiurnal air tide. There is,
in addition to lunar semidiurnal excitation, a smaller lunar diurnal
gravitational excitation. Although there must be some atmospheric
response to this excitation, it has not yet been found in the data.
