In certain models of composite quarks and leptons the precolor scale Λp is bounded in the range λ.(20-30)TeV<~Λp<~250TeV, where λ is naively of order 1. The lower bound is generally model independent. The upper bound is a cosmological constraint. We give general conditions for its validity and show that it applies in potentially realistic models.
