The CXC calibration team presently carries out a set of 15 observations of E0102-72 on ACIS-I and ACIS-S twice a year. These observations sample the response of 11 nodes (out of 32) on the FI CCDs, and 3 nodes (out of 8) on the BI CCDs with a broad range of CTI. We measure the response of at least one node on each CCD with additional measurements on I3 and S3. This plan was orchestrated under the assumption that we could fully characterize the response of every node based solely on its node-averaged CTI. However, recent data analysis of the E0102-72 observations has shown that there are significant variations in the response of the FI nodes beyond what is expected based on difference in CTI alone. To further investigate this problem, we propose to observe E0102 at three different chipy locations on node 0 of I3 for 16 ksec each.
