We request a 35 (to 100) ksec observation (depending upon actual target approved) with the HETGS to characterize the corona of a young pre-main sequence star by measuring density sensitive x-ray lines and estimating the mean coronal density of the (presumed) emitting loop structures. In the cases of the fast rotator targets (Speedy Mic or HD 283572), we also expect to be able to estimate the radial extent of the coronal structure by the detecting possible broadening of the emitted lines. (Our simulation for HD 283572 suggests we may see this effect for it and, even more likely, for Speedy Mic). By combining density and the radial extent estimates, we can gain a better picture of the corona of young fast rotator stars. GTO Priority "B"
