Numerous applications of photography in present day technology and science are described. These include the launching and tracking of satellites and rockets, the observation of the reactions of an astronaut, the recording of data obtained by the Venus probe, tracing the movement of a sodium cloud 100 miles above the earth, recording data from a radar screen, either by photographing the light produced in the phosphorous screen or allowing the electron beam to act directly on the photographic film, the study of cosmic rays by use of unmounted photographic emulsions, the detection of elements in a tiny sample, and the manufacture of small parts by photoengraving.
