Photoelectric photometers have been operated for a year at Christchurch and for several years at Saskatoon. The sodium abundance variation is displaced 6 months at the two stations, and can therefore properly be called a seasonal effect. However, the maximum occurs earlier at Christchurch and the abundances seem higher. These differences may be due to observational errors or year-to-year fluctuations. The vertical distributions appear to be identical at the two stations, and a mean height of 91±3 km is found for Christchurch.
