The A3558 complex is the largest known structure in a merging phase.Its total mass is estimated to be 5 10^15 M_o and it contains three Abell clusters and two groups within ~ 8 Mpc. A massive multiwavelength follow-up of this structure has been conducted by us, leading to discover a number of typical merging features, which could be studied with unprecedented detail. With this proposal, we will complete the understanding of the physics of the A3558 complex by observing two objects not yet observed by XMM and one object observed with insufficient exposure time. These data will be joined with the propertary Chandra and radio data in order to have the full picture of this exceptional object.
