We report on preliminary results of thermonuclear runaways in the H/He-rich envelopes of accreting neutron stars, in connection with x-ray bursts of type I. Calculations are carried by means of a one-dimensional, implicit, hydrodynamic code. Special emphasis is focused on the physical properties of the explosion as well as on the accompanying nucleosynthesis.
