Similarity solutions, for a point explosion in a spheroid with axially symmetric density distribution obeying power laws in the presence of magnetic field, are obtained. A new technique suggested by Bhowmick (1978) has been utilised to study the character of flow variables behind the shock front in an axisymmetric model. The total energy of the wave is constant.
