A class of resonance models has been proposed to explain the high-frequency quasi-periodic oscillations observed from Galactic black-hole sources. The spin predictions given by these models are compared with the recent angular momentum estimate for GRO J1655-40. It is found that none of the present resonance models is consistent with the value of the spin obtained by spectral fits of the X-ray continuum. Instead, observational constraints seem to favour another, so far not considered resonance between the vertical epicyclic frequency and the periastron precession frequency.
