The relations between the statistical features of spectroscopic and eclipsing binaries and the statistical properties of binaries as a whole were investigated. Possible distributions of the semimajor axes and of the mass ratios were selected; then certain values accessible from the observations - the proportion of spectroscopic and eclipsing binaries and the distributions of the K-velocities and of the depths of eclipse - were computed for each case.
