Ray tracing simulations and observations have recently confirmed that the chorus emissions, generated outside the plasmasphere, form the origin of plasmaspheric hiss. In this study, the hiss frequency spectrum is inferred from a realistic model of chorus emissions through ray tracing technique, as chorus waves propagate from the region outside the plasmasphere and eventually enter the plasmasphere, where they merge to form incoherent plasmaspheric hiss. The inferred hiss spectrum contains information about latitudinal dependence, frequency dependence, wave normal distribution, and L-shell distribution. The effects on the modeled hiss characteristics of different plasmaspheric density models and chorus wave distributions are investigated.
