Prognoz-5 observations of natural noise in the plasmasphere in the Southern Hemisphere during January-June 1977 are examined. Regions of low electron density at night, in the morning, and in the evening were observed. The most extensive regions with low electron density were located in the region of the Brazilian magnetic anomaly and in the geographic latitude range from +/- 30 deg from the equator and in the longitude range from 100 to 240 deg E, as well as at latitudes near the geomagnetic equator and in regions slightly displaced from this equator toward the winter hemisphere.
